Valve safety lockouts were developed through demands from industry for a simple, robust and cost effective lockout system for actuated valves. Previous models of valve locking systems were large (in size and number of components), inflexible, and difficult to operate.

Safe, Simple and Strong

The Valve Safety Lockouts mechanism allows the valve spindle to directly connect with the actuator and eliminates the intermediate couplings required in other locking systems. This results in an extremely compact unit which eliminates both the backlash associated with multiple connections and the levering effect caused by the inclusion of additional components. A further benefit of the Valve Safety Lockouts system is the minimal increase in overall height. This allows for the system to be fitted in limited operating space.

Valve safety Lockouts’ locking pin assembly is permanently retained in the frame and cannot become detached. This ensures easy usability and reduced possibility of loss of components.

Valve Safety Lockouts mechanism is configured so that the system can only be engaged when the valve is in the ‘safe’ position – either fully opened or fully closed. This eliminates locking the valve in the ‘unsafe’ position.
